Good news. Adventure Time composer Casey James Basichis has uploaded to his SoundCloud the score to the “Marceline’s Closet” episode. It’s all good stuff, but despite Marcie’s proclamation of “No one can hear it. Ever,” you’ll especially want to check out her feature beginning at 3.33. Sung by Olivia Olson, the song was written by board artist Jesse Moynihan who writes on his website:
[The song] was loosely inspired by the composer Louis Andreissen’s piece “De Staat”, except dumbed down. Basically I tried to write the kind of thing that I’ve never heard on tv before. I kept a consistent beat throughout, but didn’t let the melody repeat in any way. It’s sort of a wandering, linear phrase with all the instruments reinforcing Olivia Olson’s vocals in unison.
After recording the demo I got really nervous about it, and wrote an alternate song that was straight pop. Funny enough, Pen didn’t seem to go for the second one and liked the first, super weird one. I ended up using the pop song for my band Make A Rising on our album that we’re working on right now
Thanks, Jesse, Casey, and Olivia.

So Tim Kiefer, who, along with Casey Basichis, handles the scoring duties on Adventure Time, was kind enough to make available for download his “Manlorette Party” song, the one in “When Wedding Bells Thaw.” Here’s what Tim has to say about the piece:
Thanks to everyone for showing my Manlorette Party song so much love. It shouldn’t be a surprise that I’m a huge geek for old skool video games, and that often finds its way into my Adventure Time music. But you’re probably less familiar with my other inspiration for this track: Chicago juke music. Ever since I started working on AT, juke has been an influence on my tunes in a big way… Dancing Bug anyone?
Special thanks to the people who have taken the time to make nifty Manlorette Party remixes - great stuff!
You can download “Manlorette Party” by following this link. Also, please visit Tim’s blog, Nasty Sonix.
Thanks, Tim.
